Arts Alive Professional Development
Teachers of the arts from across West Virginia are invited to apply to participate in a one-day professional development event on April 29 in Charleston.

The professional development opportunity follows the 2nd Annual Arts Alive: The Best of West Virginia, which is West Virginia’s signature showcase for the arts in public schools. The event, which is sponsored by the West Virginia Department of Education and the West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts, is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on April 28 at the Clay Center in Charleston. The event will feature student artists in dance, music, theatre and visual art.

The professional development session will give arts teachers the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the showcase and learn more about the role the arts play in the 21st century classroom.

For more information, contact Julia Lee, arts coordinator for the state Department of Education, at 304-558-5325, extension 53231 or jrlee@access.k12.wv.us.
